On Monday, January 22, 2024, the Institute of Radiation Medicine (IREM) and the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
 IREM and OAP have had many exchange experiences, such as holding joint seminars and symposiums, and accepting OAP staff as graduate students at Hirosaki Unuversity.
 At the signing ceremony held at OAP, the IREM Director Prof. Dr. Shinji Tokonami and OAP Deputy Secretary General Ms. Pennapa Kanchana signed the MOU. With the signing of this MOU, the two parties agreed to cooperate in conducting joint research in the field of radiation safety and exchanging students and faculty members, and further strengthening of cooperation is expected.
