IREM, Hirosaki University took part in the Hirosaki Neputa Festival in 2023.

IREM’s Director, faculty members, staff, undergraduate, graduate, and international students participated in “the Hirosaki Neputa Festival” on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
We all wore matching Happi and Yukata coats and paraded around the streets of Hirosaki City.
This year was the first time in four years since 2020 that the Hirosaki Neputa Festival was held without restrictions due to the prevention of coronavirus infection, and it was also the first time in four years that Hirosaki University joined the event. There was applause and cheers from the audience gathered along the road, and it was a very fulfilling and enjoyable time for both the faculty and students of IREM who participated.
