On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Dr. Kitkawin Aramrun of the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) of Thailand, visited our IREM.
OAP is the primary agency for radiation safety and regulation in Thailand, coordinating policies on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and preparing for radiation-related emergencies. Dr. Kitkawin Aramrun is also involved as an OAP staff member in arranging international cooperation with cooperating radiation agencies and research facilities around the world.
On the day of the visit, a seminar entitiled “Challenging in Radiation Safety and regulation in Thailand” was held for IREM officials. Afterwards, we had a meeting to discuss the conclusion of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Exchange of Technical Information and Cooperation to further strengthen our cooperative relationship with IREM. In the future, we expect to collaborate with IREM and OAP are expected to collaborate through joint research, symposiums, personnel exchanges, and other activities.
