Radon present in the living environment occupies a half of radiation exposure from natural radiation sources. Hirosaki University Institute of Radiation Emergency Medicine (IREM) performs radon surveys in collaboration with Institute of Geological and Mining Research and University of Yaoundé to clarify radon exposure to the general public in Cameroon. This joint research project was introduced in the newsletter issued by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency). In the newsletter, Dr. Modibo Oumar Bobbo, who received his doctoral degree in the IREM, was pictured in action.
