Mr. Tiv Sothea and Mr. Touch Mungkol from the Ministry of Mines and Energy in Cambodia visited the IREM for five days (September 7–11, 2026) to learn techniques for mapping ambient dose rates in the environment. Supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) “TC Scientific Visit Program,” they participated in a curriculum that ranged from lectures on the fundamentals of ambient dose rate to practical exercises in data acquisition—using both man-borne and car-bone surveys—and mapping that data. Plans are underway to create ambient dose rate maps in Cambodia based on the methods learned during this visit, and the IREM will continue to support these activities.
