Dr. Jacob Mbarndouka Taamte of the Institute of Geological and Mining Research (Republic of Cameroon) will spend six months (July 31, 2026 – January 31, 2027) at the IREM to conduct international joint research work. Supported by a research grant from the Matsumae International Foundation, he aims to develop a low-cost device capable of simultaneously measuring ambient dose equivalent rates and atmospheric radon concentrations, with the goal of introducing the device to developing countries.
Dr. Taamte from the Institute of Geological and Mining Research in Cameroon is staying in Hirosaki.
