Dr. Donovan Anderson was nominated as an ICRP Cousins Award Finalist (an award recognizing the best presentation by a young scientist or professional at an ICRP International Symposium on the System of Radiological Protection)

Assistant Professor Dr. Donovan Anderson attended the International Conference on Radiation Protection (ICRP 2025) held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from October 7–9, 2025. The symposium was hosted by the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and brought together over 600 participants from around the world. Dr. Anderson was nominated for the prestigious Young Scientist Cousins Award and was selected as one of the top four finalists. He delivered an oral presentation on his KAKENHI project (Grant No. 23K15608) titled “Rapid C-banding for Dicentric Chromosome Detection and Biological Dosimetry,” which was well received by the audience. In addition, Dr. Anderson presented a poster based on his recent publication, “Fukushima’s Tap and Groundwater a Decade after the Nuclear Accident: Radiocesium, Tritium, and Radon.” Live streams from Days 2 and 3 of the conference are available on ICRP’s official YouTube channel: ICRP – YouTube
